Bollywood yesteryear romantic movie, Pagla Kahin Ka, directed by Shakti Samanta and written by Ranjan Bose was released in the year 1970. The movie starred Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh in lead roles while Prem Chopra, K. N. Singh, Helen, Manmohan Krishna, Birbal, Brahm Bhardwaj, Birbal and Viju Khot also played important roles in the film. The evergreen hit music of the film was given by the veteran music director duo Shankar-Jaikishen while the songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar. The movie was an instant hit and its songs also topped the music charts for a long time.

The movie starts with an orphan named Sujit ( Shammi Kapoor ), who is suffering from some mental problems. He rran away from the orphanage. Then years later, he meets with a singer named Shyam, who hires him as a singer in a nightclub after realizing his singing talent. Sujit becomes famous among the band of the nightclub and is also get attracted towards the dancer named Jenny. Jeeny too starts developing feeling for Sujit and they both decides to get married with each other. But nightclub owner, Max ( Prem Chopra ) is not happy with this and fights with Sujit. Shyam interferes in it and ends up killing Max.

Sujit decides to take the blame and is arrested by the police. Sujit looses his mental balance and is sent to mental asylum. There he meets with Dr. Shalini who is given the charge of Sujit’s case. Soon Sujit recovers and returns to the nightclub only to find that Jenny and Shyam are getting married to each other. Sujit feels betrayed and once again go insane. He is admitted in the same hospital but this time his recovery’s chances are very less. Will he ever be able to recover from his mental problems or will he live a life of mental patient forever.
