The comedy movie Paisa Vasool was released on January 9, 2004 under the banner of Moving Images. The movie was directed by Srinivas Bhashyam and produced by Manisha Koirala and Siddharth Koirala. The significant roles were played by Manisha Koirala, Sushant Singh, Sushmita Sen and Makrand Deshpande while Tinu Anand and Rakhi Sawant were also there in the movie. Music of the film was directed by Bapi-Tutul and the songs were sung by Vasundhara Das, Ila Arun, Hamza Faruqui and Shankar Mahadevan.

The movie Paisa Vasool has been written and directed by the debutante director Srinivas Bhashyam and the music has been given by the duo of Bapi-Tutul who had composed one song in Ram Gopal Verma’s Bhoot. Bollywood had witnessed many actresses becoming the producer Raveena Tandon (Stumped), Pooja Bhatt (Jism) and now Manisha Koirala with this movie. The movie is more of a fun-thriller than being only the comedy movie. Paisa Vasool is a hilarious thriller set in the backdrop of Mumbai.

The movie revolves around Baby ( Sushmita Sen ) who has migrated from Delhi to Mumbai in hopes and aspirations of becoming a famous actress. But her height limits her role to an item song only as she is taller than other heroines. Maria ( Manisha Koirala ) escapes from her cruel husband in a small town and make her living by running a bakery in Bandra. They meet each other by chance and start sharing their stories along with the room in a bungalow. The ambitious girls hope to make quick money and lead a better life. Thus they get involved in a robbery that starts a series of laughing riots.
