Param Dharam was an action cum crime flick that was released on November 13, 1987. The movie was directed by Swaroop Kumar and produced by Dimpy. The top roles in the film were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Moushmi Chatterjee, Mandakini and Divya Rana while the roles of Amrish Puri, Sumeet Sehgal, Rakesh Bedi, Sridevi, Viju Khote, Naveen Nischol, Satish Shah and Prema Narayan were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri.

Param Dharam was an action crime drama that revolved mostly around a girl named Savitri ( Moushumi Chatterjee ) who has now fallen in love with a guy named Vijay ( Mithun Chakraborty ). It is because he has saved her sister from a gangster named Shamshera ( Amrish Puri ). Savitri and Vijay gets intimate one day and it is after this that they decides to get married to each other. But there comes a serious turn in her life just when she was living happy with her love.

Just before the marriage could take place, Shamshera kills Vijay. But Savitri gives birth to a baby boy but she was told that the child was born dead. She later marries another guy named Thakur Prem Singh ( Navin Nischal ) who has made Shamshera blind in one eye and has also sent him in jail. She then gives birth to a baby boy Rajesh ( Sumit Saigal ). Years later she comes across a man named Ravi ( Mithun Chakraborty ) and was shocked to find that he was her own son.
