Bollywood yesteryear hit suspense thriller, Parwana, directed by Jyoti Swaroop and written by Agha Jani Kashmiri was released in the year 1971. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan and Yogeeta Bali in lead roles while Navin Nishcol, Shatrughan Sinha, Om Prakash, Helen, Lalita Pawar, Ranjita Thakur and Vikram Ghokle also played significant charaters in the movie. The melodious hit music of the film was directed by the veteran music director Madan Mohan while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a talented painter, Kumar Sen ( Amitabh Bachchan ), who is in love with a beautiful girl named Asha Verma ( Yogeeta Bali ). Asha Verma is the niece of a retired government employee, Ashok Verma ( Om Prakash ). One night, Kumar goes to Ashok Verma’s house to convince him for the his and Asha marraige. But an argument ensues between the two and Ashok Verma ask him to leave immediately and never to come at his doorstep again. Kumar leaves but soon after his exit, Ashok Verma is strangled to death.

Asha’s boyfriend, Rajeshwar Singh ( Navin Nischol ) is arrested by police in the charge of Ashok Verma’s murder. Rajeshwar is then presented in the court where the truth previals that who has actually murdered Ashok Verma and for what reason? Whether Kumar is also involved in this murder case or not? What exactly happened after Kumar’s exit from Ashok verma’s house?
