Bollywood movie, Patthar Ke Sanam, directed by Raja Nawathe was released in the year 1967. The movie starred Manoj Kumar, Mumtaz and Waheeda Rehman in lead roles while Pran, Mehmood and Lalita Powar also played important characters in the film. the superhit music of the film was given by famous music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle. the movie recieved an overwhelming response from the people and went on to become on of the biggest hit of that year.

The movie starts with Rajesh ( Manoj Kumar ), a handsome and well educated guy, who is hired as the new manager by Thakur ( Ramayan Tiwari ). Thakur’s daughter Meena ( Mumtaz ) and her close friend, Taruna ( Waheeda Rehman ) plan to tease Rajesh. Both of them tries to flirt with Rajesh and made him believe that they both have fallen in love with him. But Rajesh finds out the truth and then plans to tease both the girls. He then pretends that he also has fallen in love with both the beautiful girls. Meanwhile, both Meena and Taruna actually fall in love with Rajesh.

Thakur also agrees to permit Meena to wed with Rajesh. But on the contrary, Rajesh starts developing feeling for Taruna and ends up falling love with her. When Meena comes to know about this, she makes it clear to Tarua that she wanst Rajesh for herself at any cost. On the otherhand, Lala Bhagatram ( Pran ), with whom Taruna’s marraige was finalised in her childhood, also comes into this complex scenario. Some goons assaults Rajesh as a result her mother, Shanti, arrives there to look after him. But then arises a new complex situation including a murder mystery.
