Bollywood romantic movie, Prem Kahani, directed by Raj Khosla and written by Jayant Dharmadhikari was released in the year 1975. The movie starred Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor and Mumtaz in lead roles while Vinod Khanna, Leela Mishra, Mac Mohan, Poornima, K. N. Singh and Yunus Parvez also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the welll known music director Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Lata Mnageshkar etc.

The movie is set at the time of British India and starts with a guy named Rajesh Kamleshwar Narain ( Rajesh Khanna ), who lives a poor lifestyle in a small town. His family comprises of his brother, Brijesh Narain, his sister-in-law and a niece, Munni. He is in the college and is in love with a beautiful girl named Kamini Sinha ( Mumtaz ). They plans to get married soon but the only problem is that Kamini belongs to a wealthy family. Though Brijesh is inlolved in poilitics, Rajesh has no such interest in joining politics. Brijesh is killed by some britishers.

Rajesh now seeks revenge from the britishers and therefore gets involved with freedom fighters. Soon he becomes the other name of terror for britishers. Britishers announces a big reward for catching Rajesh - dead or alive. On the other hand, Kamini get married with another guy according to her father’s wish. Rajesh is now on a run from britishers and is rescued by a truck driver anmed Sher Khan ( Vinod Khanna ). He then takes shelter in the house of his childhood friend, Dheeraj Kumar ( Shashi Kumar ). But little does he knows is that Dheeraj is the guy with whom Kamini is married now.
