Bollywood movie, Prince, directed by Lekh Tandon and written by Abrar Alvi was released in the year 1969. The movie starred Shammi Kapoor and Vyjayanthimala in lead roles while Rajendra Nath, Helen, Leela Chitnis, Ajit, Sunder, Tej Sapru, David Abraham and randhir also played important roles in the film. The melodious hit music of the movie was given by the music director duo Shankar-Jaikishen while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with Prince Shamsher Singh ( Shammi Kapoor ), who is an irresponsible and womanizing guy. He wants everyone to obey his saying. When a priest refuse to do so, Shamsher Singh brutally beats him. But that also fails to change priest’s mind and in the end Shamsher ask him to tell what he should do to make himself feel innocent and free of a mundane life. Priest ask him to start living like a ordaniry man for six months so that all difficulties turn him into a good man. Shamsher Singh decides to follow the guideline of priest as he also wants to know the true meaning of the life.

Shamsher spreads rumour among the masses that his car has met with an accident and he is dead now. He then goes to a mearby village where he is mistaken as her son by a old blind lady. The whole village starts calling him Sajjan Singh. Two corrupt person notices the Sajjan’s similartity to Shamsher Singh and ask him to pretend Shamsher so that they can inherit the wealth of Shamsher Singh. But Sajjan get shocked to know that his father has remarried to a very young girl named Ratna and is on his deathbed.
