Bollywood yesteryear hit romantic comedy flick, Professor, directed by Lekh Tandon was released in the year 1962. The movie starred Shammi Kapoor and Kalpana in lead roles while Lalita Pawar, Rashid Khan, Ratan Gaurang, Iftekhar, Pratima Devi, Bela Bose, Salim and Tun Tun also played significant characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was composed by none other than the well known veteran music director duo Shankar Jaikishen while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Young and handsome, Pritam ( Shammi Kapoor ) is living a middle class lifestyle alongwith his mother ( Pratima Devi ). His mother is seriously ill and needs proper medical treatment. Pritam is educated but fails to get any job. He learns that there is requirement of a tutor in Darjeeling. Later he reveals that the job will be given to atalest 50 years old person. He decides to pretend to be old as fifty years in order to get the job. He admits his mother in a hospital and leavs for the Darjeeling.

He arrives in the house and introduces himself as Professor Khanna. He meets with the girls to whom he has to give tutions of Sanskrit. He meets with Nina ( Kalpana ) and Rita ( Parveen Chaudhary ). After spending some time together, he falls in love with Nina. He reveals that Nina is not happy with her mother as she is very strict to her. Pritam makes the girl understand about the love her mother has for her. What to happen next?
