The romantic thriller Pyaasa was released on October 11, 2002 under the banner of Triple AAR Movies. The movie was directed by A Muthu and produced by Ramesh Sharma. The top roles in the movie were enacted by Aftab Shivdasani, Zulfi Syed, Yukta Mookhey and Govind Namdeo while Sanjay Narvekar and Saadhika were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Sanjeev and Darshan while the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Karsan Sargathia, Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik.

The movie Pyaasa directed by A Muthu made some serious news even before its release. The soundtrack of the film released before six months was unable to impress the audience and there was controversy over the roles of the newcomer Syed Zulfi because producer Ramesh Sharma was unhappy with them. Ramesh Sharma also complained about model turned actress Yuktha Mukhi’s unprofessional behavior who in turn filed a sexual harassment case against him.

The story of the movie revolves around Suraj ( Aftab Shivdasani ) who is so desperate to get rich that he can try any short cut for it. He would also do anything to get his hands on the money. He finds the ladder of success in Sheetal ( Yukta Mukhi ) who is a boss in a big company. Suraj made a plan to impress her and then marry her. But she was not an easy girl who would fall in his web. She was attracted towards smart and rich person Prem ( Syed Zulfi ). To stop his dreams from getting buried, he picks up a gun and shoots what was coming between him and his success.
