Pyar Ka Devta was an action pact family drama released in 1991. The movie was directed by K Bapaiah and the producer of the movie was Lalit Kapoor. The top roles in the movie were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Madhuri Dixit, Nirupa Roy and Suresh Oberoi. Other good roles were played by Raj Kiran, Aruna Irani, Kader Khan and Shakti Kapoor. The music of the movie was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Alka Yagnik, Mohammad Aziz and Kumar Sanu. The lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi.

In the movie Vijay ( Mithun Chakraborty ) is a hardworking boy living in a small house along with his widowed mother and three younger sisters. Their mother dies and the entire responsibility is on Vijay. He works day and night to provide his sisters a comfortable living. Years later, when all three are grown Vijay plans to get them married. Sharda ( Roopali Ganguly ) is married to inspector Arun who is very honest to his job. Sujata ( Kishori Sharma ) is married to a lawyer and youngest Sangeeta gets her love.

Now all the sisters are settled and they wanted to pay off for what their brother has done for them. They plan to get Vijay married and come to know he is in love with a girl named Radha ( Madhuri Dixit ). They all were just planning for the marriage preparations when the twist arises. Vijay is arrested by Arun on the charges that he has raped Arun’s sister, Mohini. When Vijay is prosecuted he agrees that he has raped Mohini. How can such a caring brother rape a girl was the unanswered question in the minds of his three sisters. Is Vijay innocent?
