Yesteryear bollywood hit romantic comedy flick, Pyar Kiye Jaa, directed by C. V. Sridhar was released in the year 1966. The movie starred Shashi Kapoor and Mumtaz in lead roles while Kishore Kumar, Mehmood, Om Prakash, Rajendra Krishan, Chaman Puri, Rajshree, Veena Kumar and Kalpana also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by none other than the hit music director jodi, Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were crooned by Mahendra Kapoor, Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Widower Ramlal ( Om Prakash ) is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his two daughters named Malti ( Kalpana ) and Nirmala ( Rajshree ) and a son named Atma ( Mehmood ). Atma is fond of movies and always dreams of making a bollywood film. He also already started his own production house with the name of Wah Wah Productions. He wants his father to finance for his film. Atma has signed up a beautiful girl named Meena ( Mumtaz ) for his film. Meena is the only daughter if a Ramlal’s boss. Ramalal decides to get his daughter married in the families wealthier than him.

Then enters a guy named Ashok Verma ( Shashi Kapoor ) in the scenario, who has been hired by Ramlal as a Asisstant Manager. But when he misbehaves with Malti and Nirmala, Ramlal fires him from the job. However, Ashok protest against him and starts living in a tent in front of Ramalal’s house. Ashok’s father named Rai Bahadur Ganga Prasad ( Kishore Kumar ) arrives there and gets into an argument with Ramalal. Ramlal when reveals that Ashok belongs to a much wealthier family than him, he decides to get him married to one of his daughter. But little does he knows is that Ashok and his father is a fraud in reality.
