The family drama Pyari Behna was released on July 12, 1985. The movie was directed by Bapu and Basu Chatterjee while it was produced by B Loganathan. The key roles in the film were enacted by Mithun Chakraborty, Vinod Mehra, Padmini Kolhapure and Shakti Kapoor while Deven Verma, Tanvi Azmi, Ajay Devgan, Huma Khan, Meenakshi, Mini Tabassum and Nirmala were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Balasubramaniam S.P and Indrani Mukherjee.

The story of the movie revolved mostly around a man named Kalicharan aka Kaali ( Mithun Chakraborty ) who is just a common man living a middle class life with his sister Seeta ( Tanvi Azmi ) in a small house. The movie takes a turn when Kaali comes across Seeta’s friend Mangla ( Padmini Kolhapure ) who loved him very much and wanted to marry him as well. But Kaali had no interest whatsoever in her. It was the constant loving attitude of Mangla that Kaali started loving her and one day both got married. One day Kaali loses his left leg in an accident and he holds Vinay responsible for the accident. Vinay also fell in love with Kaali’s sister Seeta but Kaali didn’t want her to have any relationship with him.
