Qayamat: City Under Threat, directed by Harry Baweja, was a action packed thriller released on 11 July 2003. The movie starred Ajay Devgan, Sunil Shetty, Aashish Chaudhary and Neha Dhupia in lead roles while Sanjay Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan, Chunky Pandey and Isha Koppikar also played significant role in the movie. Sexy bombshell Riya Sen played a special appearance in the film. The music of the movie was given by Salim-Suleiman and Nadeem-Shravan.

The movie starts with CBI offcier Akram Sheikh ( Sunil Shetty ), who is ought to catch two terrorist brothers Ali ( Sanjay Kapoor ) and Abbas ( Arbaaz Khan ). Both of them are accompanied by their sexy girlfriend, Laila ( Isha Koppikar ) in every work. They hijacks an old prison which was termed as one of the tight security prison in past. The terriosts has a plan to spread a virus through missiles at various lakes. Akram is asked to catch the terriorist and to fail their mission.

Akram asks his superiors to release Rachit ( Ajay Devgan ), who is the only prisoner that had escaped from that prison in past. Akram get permission to get Rachit to accompany him. Both of them with a troop of commandos and a scientist Rahul ( Aashish Chaudhary ) enters in the prison. But very soon Akram and his commandos got killed by the terrorists. Now only Rachit and Rahul are alive and has the responsibilty to stop terrorists from spreading that deadly virus.
