The musical family drama Qila was released on April 10, 1998 under the banner of Eagle Films. The movie was directed by Umesh Mehra and produced by Pavesh Mehra. The top roles in the movie were enacted by Dilip Kumar, Mukul Dev, Rekha and Mamta Kulkarni while the presence of Gulshan Grover and Malay Chakraborty supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Anand Raj Anand and the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Amit Kumar, Preeti Uttam, Sadhana Sargam, Nayan Rathod and Mohammad Aziz.

The movie Qila was directed by Umesh Mehra who has showed his mettle by producing this family entertainer. The lead role in the movie was played by Dilip Kumar which was not expected from him but was a great family entertainer. One can see Dilip Kumar in a double role in this film. He plays the roles of twin brothers, one of whom is an evil man who always disregarded his family while the other is a good lawyer who loves and takes care of his family.

The first brother Jagannath Singh ( Dilip Kumar ) was an evil thakur with the qualities similar to that of gangsters. He had all the worse qualities of abusing his wife, drinking and also flirting with other women. He always abused his wife and harassed her before throwing her out of the house thereby forcing her to move into a slumish area of the village with her son Amar ( Mukul Dev ). Amar starts his career with becoming a truck driver and falls in love with his boss’s daughter Neeta ( Mamta Kulkarni ). One night, he gets killed and the mystery was resolved by his brother Amarnath ( Dilip Kumar ).
