Qurbani Rang Layegi was a family drama released in 1991. The movie was produced by K K Talwar and the director of the movie was Raj Sippy. The lead roles in the movie were played by Sanjay Dutt, Ram Mohan, Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure. Other appreciable roles were played by Shakti Kapoor, Kajal Kiran, Satyen Kappu and Vikas Anand. The music of the movie was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the singers were Shabbir Kumar and Asha Bhosle. The lyricist was Gulshan Bawra and the story was written by Prayag Raj.

In the movie Jai Kishen ( Sujit Kumar ) earns his living by singing. He had some problems with Thakur ( Ram Mohan ) which was disturbing him. He loses his patience and tries to kill Thakur but Thakur’s bodyguard gets killed. Kishen is arrested and is sentenced 14 years of imprisonment. His son Raj ( Sanjay Dutt ) was left alone but was adopted by a poor beggar Hamid ( Satyen Kappu ). Raj grows on the streets and earns his livelihood by singing on the roads. He meets a girl Basanti ( Padmini Kolhapure ) and the two were soon in love with each other.

One day he meets Poonam ( Poonam Dhillon ) and she was really impressed by his singing and by him also. He motivated him to be a professional singer. Soon Poonam was in love with Raj and he too developed liking for him. When he comes to know that Basanti was into prostitution he gets more inclined towards Poonam but what he didn’t knew was that Poonam was Thakur’s daughter, the person who made his childhood hell. What will happen when Raj comes to know about the truth?
