Bollywood handsome actor, R. Madhavan, was born on June 1, 1970 in Jamshedpur, India. Madhavan started of his acting career at the age of 29 and after getting married to Sarita in 1999. Actually Madhavan did a sandalwood talc advertisement with Santosh Sivan, who later recommended his name to ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam. But after getting no response from Mani Ratnam, Madhavan decided to do some television serials and starred in some serials like Sea Hawks, Banegi Apni Baat etc

His first major breakthrough in the bollywood industry came in the form of romantic film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Main. He starred alongside Saif Ali Khan and beautiful Diya Mirza in the film. The film was well recieved by the audiences and went on to became one of the highest grossing film of that year. He was then seen in a multistarrer romantic movie titled Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar. He also worked as a lead hero in the comedy flick Ramji Londonwaley. Though his acting was appreciated by the audience but the film failed to do well at the ticket window.

His biggest hit film in bollywood came n the form of Aamir Khan and Soha Ali Khan starrer Rang De Basanti. He also gave a notable performance in Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Guru. He gave a lip lock sequence with beautiful Vidya Balan in this film. He played a cameo appearance in the Delhi heights. His last released flick Mumbai Meri Jaan was based upon the 2006 Mumbai Bombings. He is also doing an important role in Shahrukh Khan starrer forthecoming flick My Name Is Khan.
