Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh starrer romantic comedy movie, Rafoo Chakkar was released on January 2, 1975. The movie was directed by Narendra Bedi and written by Rajkumar Bedi. The other starcast of the movie includes Rajendra Nath, Paintal, Anwar Hussain, Asrani, Madan Puri, Mumtaz begum, Sulochana Latkar and Viju Khote in important roles. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director duo Kalyanji-Anandji while the songs were rendered by Shailendra singh, Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar, Mahesh Kumar etc.

The movie starts with two guys named Dev ( Rishi Kapoor ) and Salim ( Paintal ), who are best buddies and play a band for weddings. One day they witnesses two guys named Prakash ( Madan Puri ) and Ranjit ( Anwar Husaain ) killing a person in graveyard. They comes to know about the presence of Dev and Salim there and tries to catch them. Salim and Dev manage to flee from there but goons are still after them. Dev and Salim then change into women’s clothing and join a band of girls going to Srinagar. A girl named Reetu ( Neetu Singh ) is also in the bandof girls, who has run away from her cruel aunt, who was forcing her to marry with an old man.

Dev falls in love with Reetu but fails to express his love to her as he is pretending to be a girl in front of the band of the girl. Reetu wants to get married with a rich guy though. Dev then decides to pretend to be a rich guy named Esso. Esso and Reetu’s love story begins but the goons after Dev and Salim manage to locate them and are now about to kill the two as well.
