Bollywood movie, Rahi Badal Gaye, directed by Ravi Tandon and written by Madan Joshi was released on April 5, 1985. The movie starred Rishi Kapoor and Padmini Kolhapure in lead roles while Shaban Azmi, Shakti kapoor, Suresh Oberoi, Rajendra nath and Asha lata also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the very famous music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Shailendra singh, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with a guy named Amar Lal ( Rishi Kapoor ), who works as a guide in the beautiful Kashmir. Amar is secretly in love with a beautiful girl named Bhavna ( Shabana Azmi ), who works as a receptionist in a hotel. He takes help of Bhavna’s sister named Sangeeta ( Padmini Kolhapure ), in revealing what Bhavna thinks about him. He becomes overjoyed with the news that Bhavna is also in love with him. They both plans to get married soon. Then Sangeeta introduces a guy named Vikram aka Vicky ( Shakti kapoor ) to Amar and Bhavna.

Amar learns that Vicky is a big alcoholic and womanizer. He tries to convince Sangeeta to break her relationship from Vicky and manage to do so. Bhavna reveals that Amar has met with an accident by falling down a mountain and is dead now. Bhavna gets devastated with this news. Then enters a guy named Pawan KUmar Saxena ( Rishi Kapoor ) in the scenario, who is a lool alike of Amar. He meets with Sangeeta and falls in love with her. But problem arises when he is mistaken for Amar by Bhavna.
