Bollywood suspense thriller, Raja Jani, directed by Mohan Sehgal was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Dharmendra and Hema Malini in lead roles while Prem Chopra, Prem Nath, Durga Khote, Nadira, Johnny Walker, Lata Sinha, Jankidas, Rajan Haksar and Hiralal also played important roles in the film. The hit meldious music of the film was directed by the famous music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal while thye songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. The movie was an avarage hit at the box office.

Rajmata ( Durga Khote ) is in search of his granddaughter, who has been missing since the age of twelve. Her diwan, Gajendra Singh ( Prem Nath ) wants to acquire her wealth and there makes a plan with a conman Rajkumar Singh aka Raja ( Dharmendra ). Raja meets with a street dancer named Shanno ( Hema Malini ) and ask her to be a part in their game. He wants Shanno to becomes the missing granddaughter of Rajmata and in return she will given the share from the wealth. He gives training to Shanno for behaving like a princess and soon they succeed in covincing Rajmata that Shanno is her granddaughter.

Rajmata is delighted to have her dear granddaughter back in her life. She decides to handover the crown of princess to Shanno. She also tells her about the secret treasure in their mansion. She even gives the key of the treasure’s room to Shanno. This changes the heart of Shanno and she decides to tell the truth to Rajmata. But Raja and Diwan comes in between her and Rajmata. How will happen next?
