Bollywood romantic flick, Raja Saab, directed by Suraj Prakash was released in the year 1969. The movie starred Shashi Kapoor and Nanda in lead roles while Kamal Kapoor, Subbiraj, Shammi, Azra, Kumari Naaz, Mehmood Junior and Agha also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by the well knwon veteran music director duo Kalyanji-Anandji while the songs were beautifully crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Suman Kalyanpur etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Raju ( Shashi kapoor ), who is an orphan and brought up in an orphanage. Raju always dreams of becoming a wealthy man. He wants to be a prince of any region once day. He meets with Rajkumari Poonam ( Nanda ) and few misunderstanding ensues between them. Raju is then thrown out of the orphanage. He starts working as a masseur and is hired by Prince Pratap Singh ( Rajendra Nath ). Raju impersonate Prince Pratap and thus fullfills his dream of becoming a prince.

He then once again meets with Rajkumar Poonam and falls in love with her. But the problem is that for enjoying the life of a prince he has to insult Poonam everytime he meets her. But soon he finds it difficult to insult Poonam as he deeply falls in love with her. Now he has to choose one thing from his dream of becoming a prince and his love. What Raju will opt for?
