Rakht was a horror thriller movie released on September 3, 2004 under the banners of Popcorn Motion Pictures and Cine Blitz Productions. The movie was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Jordy Patel. The main roles were enacted by Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Sunil Shetty and Dino Morea while the presence of Amrita Arora and Neha Dhupia supported the film. Music of the film was directed by Shamir Tandon and the songs were sung by Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghosal, Ritika Sahani, Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal.

Rakht has everything what it takes to be a hit movie from big stars to the supernatural theme of the movie with the elements of suspense and thrills at regular instants. The factors that support the movie are its reasonable representation by the director Mahesh Manjrekar and a good story. The movie revolves around a tarot card reader Drishti ( Bipasha Basu ) who has this special ability of foreseeing the future and predict it much before than they happen with her cards. She is a widow and has an eight year old baby.

Drishti has a client Rhea ( Neha Dhupia ) who wanted her help to overcome the beatings and her husband Sunny’s ( Dino Morea ) aggressive behavior. Drishti advises her to leave her husand. This decision forced Sunny to warn her not to counsel his wife anymore. There was a car mechanic Mohit ( Suniel Shetty ) inclined towards Drishti. Rahul ( Sanjay Dutt ) is a principal of a school and engaged to a beautiful lady Natasha ( Amrita Arora ). One night at a party, Natasha goes missing and Rahul takes Drishti’s help to find her.
