The movie Raqeeb was released on May 18, 2007 and belonged to the genre of Romance. Raqeeb had ben directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Raj Kanwar. The lead roles in the film were played by Rahul Khanna, Sharman Joshi, Jimmy Shergill and Tanushree Datta. The supporting roles were played by Sherlyn Chopra, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Rekha Rao and Neena Kulkarni. The music of the film was directed by Pritam Chakraborty and the songs were sung by K K, Sunidhi Chauhan, Alisha Chinoy, Tulsi Kumar, Kunal Ganjawala and Zubeen Garg.

Raqeeb is a debut film for Anurag Singh as the director. The movie Raqeeb is similar to the two earlier movies Humraaz and Fida. The movie has several stories but all are such linked to each other that the second one that is starting has some resemblance to the earlier one. The story of the movie revolves around Remo Mathews ( Rahul Khanna ) who is a tech freak and owns a successful software company. Remo was left alone when his parents died in a car accident when he was a kid. His best friend and also his employee Siddharth ( Sharman Joshi ) was very close to him.

Siddharth, who is a playboy, shy and asthmatic person, is completely different from Remo in nature. Siddharth encourages Remo to socialize and meet a few girls so that he can find the right girl for himself. Remo didn’t agree with the idea so Siddharth decided to play a prank on him and set up a blind date for him. Remo meets the girl named Sofie ( Tanushree Dutta ) and after some initial hiccups fell in love with her. Later Sofie came to know that the accident responsible for the death of her parents was due to Remo’s parents. Remo proposes and the two gets married.
