Former bollywood actress, Rati Agnihotri, was born December 10, 1960 in Mumbai, India. She belongs to a traditional Punjabi family. She is married to a business man named Anil Virmani and they have a child named Tanuj Virmani. She started off her acting career with a Tamil film titled Pudhiya Varpukal in the year 1979. She was only sixteen at the time of the release of her first film. The movie did exceptionally well at the box office and she became an overnight star of Tollywood film industry. She worked in several Tamil movies alongside some famous south actors like Rajnikant, Kamal Hassan etc.

She then made her bollywood debut with a romantic film titled Ek Duje Ke Liye opposite Kamal Hassan. The movie was the remake of her Telugu blockbuster, Marocharithra. The movie went on to become one of the biggest hit of the year and she became an overnight star. She delievered many hit films in her short career. She also paired up opposite megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the movie titled Coolie. She worked with legendary actor Dilip Kumar in the film titled Mashaal. However, she was paired opposite Anil Kapoor in the film.

She recieved filmfare nomination for Best Actress category for her beautiful act in the movie titled Tawaif. Rati made a flop comeback with Kajol starrer romantic comedy Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi in which she played the supporting character of Kajol’s mother. She did supporting roles in the movies like Yaadein, Hum Tum, Kyun Ho Gaya Naa, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha etc. her latest released movie is Ru Ba Ru which also failed to do well at the box office.
