Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein was a musical romantic movie relesased on October 18, 2001 under the banner of Puja Films. The movie was directed by Gautam Menon and produced by Vashu Bhagnani. The significant roles in the movie were played by R Madhavan, Saif Ali Khan, Dia Mirza and Vrajesh Hirjee while Anupam Kher and Naveen Nischol were also there in the film. Music of the film was directed by Harris Jayraj and the songs were sung by Sonu Nigam, Bombay Jayshree, Roop Kumar Rathod, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shaan and K K.

The movie Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein was produced by Vashu Bhagnani who quit producing flop movies with his famous ‘Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai’. The film is the remake of the hit Tamil movie “Minnale”. S. Madhavan played the lead male in the film but was a debutante with this film. The movie revolves around a mechanical engineering student Madhav Shastri ( Madhavan ). He is a carefree guy who takes life as it comes. He was a bully at the college and had the habit of picking up fights against everyone.

There were many people also who just hated him and his sloppy nature. One of them is Rajeev Sharma ( Saif Ali Khan ). A brawl between the two resulted in Rajeev being suspended for some time though at the time of his farewell, both ignored each other. The non believer of love fell in love with Reena Malhotra ( Diya Mirza ). To impress her, he was helped by DD ( Anupam Kher ), his father and his closest friend Keki ( Hrajesh Virjee ). Reena was to meet her fiancé, and this situation was used by him to enter her life.
