Bollywood musical romantic thriller, Reshma Aur Shera, directed by Sunil Dutt and written by Ali Raza was released in the year 1971. The movie starred Vinod Khanna, Sunil Dutt and Rakhee Gulzar in lead roles while Amitabh Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman, Amrish Puri, Ranjeet, Sanjay Dutt, Sulochana Latkar and Padma Khanna also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the music director Jaidev Verma while the songs were rendered by Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a beautiful girl named Reshma ( Waheeda Rehman ) and a guy named Shera ( Sunil Dutt ). They both meets with each other and soon falls in love. However, they both belongs to rival families. Shera and Reshma tries to keep their love affair a secret from their families but fails. When Shera’s father comes to know about this relationhsip, he assign the task of killing Reshma’s father and her brother, to his younger son named Chotu ( Amitabh Bachchan ).

When Shera learns that Chotu has killed Reshma’s newly wedded brother and her father on the saying of his father, he kills his own father. Shera goes mad after murdering his own father and becomes a destructive nature guy. Reshma in order to bring Shera out of this destructive state of mind, decides to marry Chotu. But this only make Shera more angry and destructive. What will happen now?
