The social movie Rihaee was released in the year of 1990. The movie was directed as well as produced by Arunraje. The top roles in the movie were played by Vinod Khanna, Naseruddin Shah, Hema Malini and Neena Gupta while the presence of Reema Lagoo, Harish Patel, Mohan Agashe, Ila Arun, Pallavi Joshi and Achyut Potdar supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Sharang Dev while the songs were sung by Amit Kumar, Alka Yagnik and Mohammad Aziz.

As the title of the movie Rihaee suggests, the film was a social and offbeat film that was directed by the director Arunraje for whom this was his first film. The movie raises the sad situation of a village where the men are away from the work leaving all the women to fend for themselves and their respective children, until they return. Since both men and women were apart from each other, they were left with no option but to satisfy their sexual needs somewhere.

The men utilized various courtesans and prostitutes while away from their wives, the wives also found some way of satisfying their sexual pleasure. The twist in the story comes when Taku ( Hema Malini ), one of the wives of the villagers, declares that she is pregnant and the baby is not her husband Amarji’s ( Vinod Khanna ). Everyone was depressed and her husband wanted her to be expelled from the village. Her fate was then decided by the village panchayat. The women then comes forward in her favor.
