Bollywood family drama, Rishte Naate, directed by K. S. Gopalkrishnan was released in the year 1965. The movie starred Raaj Kumar and Nutan Behl in lead roles while Jeevan, Ameeta, Deven Verma, Jamuna, Kanhaiyalal, Nasir Hussain and David Abraham also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the veteran famous music director Madan Mohan while the songs were beautifully crooned by Mohammed rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Thakur Narendrapal Singh ( Nasir Hussain ) doies not believes his new wife, Roopa ( Ameeta ) and therefore ask a village labourer named Sunder ( Raaj Kumar ) to get married with his daughter named Jamuna ( Kalpana ). Sunder is an honest and hardworking guy. Sunder agrees to his proposal and get married with Jamuna. Soon Jamuna gives brith to a baby girl. Destiny plays its game and Jamuna passes away leaving behind devastated Sunder. Thakur Narendrapal then ask Sunder to get married with another girl named Savitri ( Nutan Behl ).

Sunder initially refuses to do so but later agrees to get married with her. The marraige happens but Savitri fails to get affection from Sunder, who is still unable to get Jamuna out of his mind. But Savitri continues to do her work and soon becomes successful in getting the love of the child. Problem arises once again when Thakur’s wife’ father ( Jeevan ) enters in their life to inherit the wealth of Thakur.
