The movie Rock On!! Is under production currently and will be releasing on August 29, 2008 under the banner of Excel Films. The movie is directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The film stars Farhan Akhtar, Purab Kohli, Prachi Desai, Koel Puri, Luke Kenny, Shahana Goswami and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles. The music directors of the movie are Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonca. The songs of the movie are sung by Suraj Jagan, Raman Mahadevan, Farhan Akhtar, Dominique and Caralisa.

The promotional of the movie has been started on the TV screens. The movie showcases Farhan Akhtar who is debuting as a hero with this film and opposite to him is the small screen star Prachi Desai who is also a newcomer. The movie is about a rock band formed by the group of four peoples. Joe Mascarenhas ( Arjun Rampal ) is the lead guitarist of the group. Joe who is extremely talented person of the group is also the most loyal person towards his group and his girlfriend. KD ( Purab Kohli ) popularly called as Killer Drummer is the drummer of the group, belongs to a jeweller’s family and feels choked with his family business but independent when he is drumming. To him it is his drumming that keps him alive.

Rob Nancy ( Luke Kenny ) acts as mediator and one can easily bank upon him to resove any dispute that arises. He liked the band because of he loved the friendship that comprises the band. One can always find him on the keyboard. The last member of the band is Aditya Shroff ( Farhan Akhtar ) who left his well-to-do family just to fulfill his dreams. The amazing poet dreams to become a famous singer. It is due to his qualities that he is praised by the Gen-X. The four friends unites again after some time and their journey to achieve their dreams begins.
