Bollywood comedy family drama, Rockford, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor was released in the year 1999. The movie starred Nandita Das and Rohan Dey in lead roles while Nagesh Kukunoor, Jayant Kripalani, Usha Krishnamurthy and Shilpa Pai also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the music director Aashirvad while the songs were beautifully crooned by Shankar Mahdevan etc.

Young Rajesh Naidu ( Rohan Dey ) is admitted to a new school by his parents. His new school name is Rockford School. Initially Rajesh finds it hard to spend hi time there but after sometime he becomes used to it. He come across a beautiful girl named Malti ( Usha Krishnamurthy ), who studies in the nearby Catholic school. He falls in love with her and proposes to her. Malti also get attracted towards him and accept his proposal and get remantically involved with him.

After some time, Rajesh also get romantically involved with malti’s friend, Shariyar ( Shilpa Pai ). He also beats up a teacher named Johnny mathews ( Nagesh Kukonoor ), when Shariya tells him that the school teacher was demanding sexual favours from her. There are several other things too which are distarcting Rajesh from his studies. He is having hots for his school teacher, Ms. Lily Vegas ( Nandita Das ).
