Bollywood movie, Rocky, directed by Sunil Dutt was released on April 26,1981. the movie starred Sanjay Dutt and Tina Munim in lead roles while Reena Roy, Ranjeet, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Rakhee Gulzar, Satyendra Kapoor, Iftekhar and Shashikala also played important roles in the film. The hit music of the movie was given by none other than famous music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were beautifully rendered by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Rahul Dev Burman, Asha Bhonsle etc. The movie was the debut one of Sanju Baba in the bollywood industry.

Parvati ( Rakhee Gulzar ) is the widow of Shamlal and is living with her only son, Rakesh ( Sanjay Dutt ). Rakesh who is in trauma because of his father’s sudden death experience this trauma again ana again on seeing his mother. Parvati then decides to go away from Rakesh’s life. Rakesh is then adopted by Robert D’Souza ( Amjad Khan ) and his wife, Kathy ( Aruna Irani ). Rakesh is renamed as Rocky. Years later, Rocky is a teenager now and has forgotten all his old memories. He don‘t even remembers his mother who gave him birth. Rocky likes to live a carefree life and is famous among his friends.

Rocky meets with beautiful girl named Renuka ( Tina Munim ) and instantly falls in love with her. Renuka becomes the way of making Rocky relaize about his real identity. Rocky learns that he is Rakesh and his mother is still alive. He also reveals that his father was brutally murdered by someone. Rocky then decides to search out for the killer of his father. He is determined to take revenge from his father’s killer.
