The romantic movie Romance was released on October 21, 1983. The movie was directed as well as produced by Ramanand Sagar. The top roles in the movie were played by Kumar Gaurav, Shammi Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon and Saeed Jaffrey while the supporting roles were played by Ranjeeta, Anwar, Raj Babbar, Viju Khote, Sushma Seth and Tom Alter. The music of the film was directed by R D Burman while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Manna Dey, Chandrashekhar, Lata Mangeshkar, Amit Kumar and R D Burman.

The movie Romance was a romantic and love film as guessed from its title. The story of the movie revolved mostly around a couple Mr. and Mrs. Roy who is British based. The couple gets thrilled when their son tells them that he is going to marry a Caucasian woman. Soon the family gets filled with happiness when their son becomes the fathe of a girl child named Sonia. But the twist in the story comes when tragically their son passes away.

The heartbroken and sad family starts living without him. Sonia ( Poonam Dhillon ) also matures under the strict supervision of her mother. She grows up also under her grandparents’ love who encourages her to pay them a visit in India which she does. One day she comes across a man named Amar ( Kumar Gaurav ) and both fall in love with each other. On returning home she tells her mother that she is in love with Amar and will be inviting him to Britain soon.
