The romantic movie Roohi was released in the year of 1981. The movie was directed by S V Saiyed and produced by M G Sarna and Navin Kumar. The top roles in the movie were played by Mazhar Khan, Meena Rai, Zarina Wahab and Mukesh Khanna while the supporting roles were played by Asha Sachdev and Sudhir Dalvi. The music of the film was directed by Manoj Saran while the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Lyrics were given by Indivar.

The movie Roohi was a romantic flick that was like the all other usual movies. The story of the movie revolved mostly around a man named Vijay ( Mazhar Khan ) who is a wealthy man living along with his uncle in Delhi. He loves his painting very much and is thus a canvas painter. He has his dream girl’s image in his mind and thus draws it on the canvas which he takes along to the Kandaghat in Himachal Pradesh.

In Himachal Pradesh, he visits his close friend Prakash ( Mukesh Khanna ) who welcomes him by heart and stays with him in his big house. In fact Prakash shared the house with his girlfriend Shalu ( Asha Sachdev ). The movie takes a turn when Vijay comes across a girl named Sajjo ( Zarina Wahab ) who is a village girl who actually looked like his girl on the canvas. Both soon fell in love and Vijay started calling her as Roohi. What Vijay didn’t know was that she had admirers in Sangha ( Girja Shankar ) and Prakash himself.
