The action movie Run was released on May 14, 2004 under the banner of Sridevi Productions. The movie was directed by Jeeva and produced by Sridevi. The important roles were enacted by Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Bhumika Chawla and Vijay Raaz while Ayesha Jhulka and Mukesh Rishi were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs were sung by Alka Yagnik, Kunal Ganjawala, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam.

The director of the movie Jeeva enters the world of Bollywood with this movie and had been producing Tamil movies like “12B”. Run is a remake of a Tamil film whose title was also “Run” that starred Madhvan and Meera Jasmine in the lead roles and Atul Kulkarni playing the role of a cruel brother.  Jeeva, director of Hindi remake, was its cinematographer. The actress Ayesha Jhulka also made a comeback with this film playing the role of the sister of the hero. The movie is full of emotions of love, laugh, hate and cry.

The story of the movie completely revolves around Siddharth ( Abhishek Bachchan ) who has come to Delhi from his home in Agra in hopes of turning his dreams and aspirations into realities. He come across a beautiful lady Jhanavi ( Bhumika Chawla ) who floored him with his innocence. But he didn’t know that she was always accompanied by her brother Ganpat Chowdhary’s ( Mahesh Manjerekar ) dominance. He is so possessive about her that he can kill anyone even touching her. Now it was Siddharth’s race to take her away with him as it had become the battle of Ganpat and Siddharth.
