Bollywood musical family drama, Rungoli, directed by Amar Kumar and written by Rajinder Singh Bedi was released in the year 1962. The movie starred Kishore Kumar and Vjayanthimala in lead roles while Dhumal, Jeevan, Fazlu, Nasir Hussain, Durga Khote, Krishna Kumar, Sadhana , Iftekhar and Ulhas also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the none other than the hit veteran music director duo Shankar Jaikishen while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Manna Dey and Lata Mangeshkar.

Sewakram ( Nasir Hussain ) is living a middle class lifestyle alongwith his wife, a son named Lattoo and a daughter named Nirmala. He is employed in United Commercial Bank. His only aim is to get his children educated and settled in their life. Nirmala meets with a guy named Kishore Kumar Shashtri ( Kishore Kumar ) and befriends him. Kishore belongs to a wealthy family and is living a carefree lifestyle alongwith his father. Sewakram gets impressed by Kishore after their first meeting and arranges Kishore and Nirmala’s marriage.

But destiny strikes and Sewakram gets seriously injured in an accident occured at a construction site. Nirmala get shocked to reveal that the accident actually happened because of a silly mistake of Kishore. She refuse to have to do anything with him. Before Kishore can give any explanation to her, he is arrested by police. On the otherhand, Nirmala’s marriage is also arranged with some other guy.
