The crime and social drama Sadak Chhap was released on July 24, 1987. The movie was directed as well as produced by Anil Ganguly. The main roles in the movie were played by Jackie Shroff, Vijay Arora, Padmini Kolhapure and Amrish Puri while the presence of Deven Verma, Richa Sharma, Gulshan Grover, Nandita Thakur, Huma Khan and Suhasini Mulay supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar.

As the name of the movie Sadak Chhap suggests, the story of the movie is about a guy who was born and matured on the street alone without any information about his relatives and family. The story of the movie revolves mostly around Shankar ( Jackie Shroff ) who matured on the streets alone and is now a small conman who makes his living doing this stuff and this is also the reason why he is quite popular among the police.

The tale of the movie takes a turn when there is an entry of a beautiful and rich girl named Natasha ( Richa Sharma ), who is, in reality, the niece of a well-known Member of Parliament, Dharamdas ( Amrish Puri ). She started liking him gradually and one day fell for him completely. But the reality was that Shankar loved another girl Anju ( Padmini Kolhapure ). Shankar also comes to know that his father is alive and thus arranges a meeting with him with the help of Natasha.
