Anil Kapoor and Amrita Singh starrer romantic comedy flick, Saheb, was released on February 14, 1985. The movie was directed by Anil ganguly. The other starcast of the movie includes Rakhee, Biswajeet, Nandita Thakur, Deven Verma, Vijay Arora, Dilip Dhawan, Pinchoo Kapoor, Suresh Chatwal and Utpal Dutt in significant characters. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by the well known music director Bappi lahiri while the songs were beautifully sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle and Bappi Lahiri himself.

Sharma family is headed by Mr. Sharma ( Utpal Dutt ), who is the father of three sons and a daughter Geeta ( Sudha Chopra ). His two sons are doing jobs and are happily married. His youngest son, Sunil alias Saheb ( Anil Kapoor ) is still single and is unemployed. He is considered as the black sheep of the Sharma family. Saheb is good at playing football and is the captain of his university football team. Mr. Sharma arranges Geeta’s marriage with a London based guy and he needs to go there for making proper arrangements.

He asks for a sum of Rs. 50,000 from his two emploed sons but both of them refuse to give a single penny. Saheb learns about this and decides to arrange the required money at any cost. He sells his kidney in order to arrange the money. But his father refuse to accept the moeny as he thinks that saheb must have stolen the moeny from somewhere as he is unemployed and is not in position of arranging a such a big amount.
