Bollywood action thriller, Salaakhen, directed by Guddu Dhanoa and written by Dilip Shukla was released on April 24, 1998 The movie starred Sunny Deol and Raveena Tandon in lead roles while Anupam Kher, Deven Verma, Manisha Koirala, Amrish Puri, Mahavir Shah, Dinesh Hingoo, Farida Jalal, Dinesh Hingoo and Mohan Joshi also plaied important roles in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the well knwon music director duo Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet, Alka yagnik, Vinod Rathod, Hema sardesai etc.

The movie starts with a family headed by Sachidanand Agnihotri ( Anupam Kher ), who is a kind hearted guy and works as a school teacher. He is living alongwith his wife and a son named Vishal ( Sunny Deol ). Sachidanand witnesses the rape and murder of a girl by Nagesh ( Kummy Dhillon ), who is the son of an influential guy named Jaspla Rana ( Amrish Puri ). Vishal tries to convince his father that he should not get involved in this case but he refuses to listen him. But in court, Jaspal’s lawyer proves that Sachidanand’s is mentally absent.

As a result of this humilation, Sachidanand ends up killing himself. Vishal goes mad with this and beats the corrupt police officers. He is arrested by police and is been held in prison. Vishal then escape from the jail and kills Nagesh. His only motive of life is to kill everyone who was responsible for his father’s death.
