Bollywood romantic flick, Sanam, directed by Aziz Sejawal and written by Rajeev Kaul was released in the year 1997. The movie starred Sanjay Dutt and Manisha Koirala in lead roles while Vivek Mushran, Javed Rizvi, Gulshan Grover, Rami Reddy, Kadar Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Dinesh Hingoo, Achyut Poddar, Razak Khan and Anupam Kher also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the hit music director duo Anand Milind while the songs were crooned by Pankaj Udhas, Alka Yagnik etc.

Gaurav Anand ( Vivek Mushran ) belongs to a wealthy family and is living a comfortable life. His father is a wealthy industrialist. His mother and elder brother, Narendra ( Sanjay Dutt ) is living aborad. His father loves Narendra more than him. Gaurav wants some attention from his father but his father never thinks about it. Gaurav’s lifestyle gets changed when Narendra is killed during an accident. Gaurav tries to take his brother position but all his efforts goes in vain.

Gaurav get frustated with this and decides to join army so that he can go out of his house. His only aim is to prove his father that he is also like his brother. Gaurav then come across a beautiful girl named Sanam ( Manisha Koirala ). Sanam falls in love with him but he refuse to accept her love as he has no time to think about love. Sanam decides to make Gaurav fall in love with her.
