The romantic and musical movie Sangeet was released in the year of 1992 under the banner of Super Cassettes Industries Ltd. The movie was directed by K Vishwanath and produced by Gulshan Kumar. The main roles in the movie were played by Jackie Shroff, Parikshit Sahani, Madhuri Dixit and Shafi Inamdaar while Aruna Irani, Asha Sharma and Nitish Bharadwaj were also there in the film. Music of the film was directed by Anand Chitragupt and Milind Chitragupt while the songs were sung by Anuradha Paudwal, Pankaj Udhas, Jolly Mukherjee, Suresh Wadkar and Mukul Agrawal.

As depicted by its name, Sangeet was a musical and romantic movie directed by the popular director K Vishwanath. The director has also directed movies like Eashwar and Sargam earlier which were remakes of his own movies in Telugu. The movie was a sweet story about human love, imperfection, selflessness, and forgiveness. The movie revolves around Setho ( Jackie Shroff ) who comes to  Mumbai to perform in the folk singing shows.

Setho was given a chance to perform at her anniversary party by “Madam” ( Madhuri Dixit ) when she heard him singing outside a deserted building. Setho impresses her there but his folk singing was not liked by every one out there. Madam encourages him in his music. Setho falters in a dance hall when he sees a beautiful young woman ( Madhuri ) performing dance before some audience. He befriends with her and her mother and was shocked to know that the lady was blind and her mother knew no other way to feed them.
