Ajay Devgan, Karishma Kapoor and Ayesha Jhulka starrer action thriller Sangram was released in the year 1993. The movie was directed by Lawrence D’Souza and written by Jalees Sherwani. The other starcast of the movie includes Amrish Puri, Laxmikant Berde, Danny Denzongpa, Reema Lagoo, Satyendra kapoor, Anjana Mumtaz, Asrani, Avtar Gill and Vikas Anand also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by none other than well known music director Nadeem Shrawan while the songs were crooned by Kumar sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik, Sunanda etc.

The movie starts with Raja Singh Kanwar ( Ajay Devgan ), who studies in a college. He is one of the hot favourite guy of the college. He meets with beautiful Madhu ( Karishma Kapoor ) and after intial fight they decides to become friends. However, Madhu actually has fallen in love with Raja. But Raja is unknow to this fact and considers her just as his best friend. After completing their college life both return to their respective home. Raja retruns to his father, Thakur Surajbhan Singh ( Amrish Puri ) while Madhu returns to her father, Thakur Shamsher Singh Rana ( Danny Denzongpa ).

There is enemity between Thakur Surajbhan and Shamsher Singh as years ago, Surajbhan refuse to get married with Shamsher’s sister as a result of which she committed suicide. Surajbhan reveals that Madhu is in love with Raja. So he decides to kill the enemity between the two families by getting Raja and Madhu married with each other. But he get shocked to learn that Raja is in love with some other girl named Pallavi ( Ayesha Jhulka ), who is a poor girl. What will happen now?
