The movie Sarkar Raj has been released on June 6, 2008 unser the banner of K Sera Sera and Adlabs Films Ltd. The movie which belonged to the genre of thriller has been shot at Hyderabad. The movie has been directed by the famous director Ram Gopal Varma who has also produced the movie along with Praveen Nischol. The star casts of the movie are Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shishir Sharma, Govind Namdeo, Ravi Kale, Tanisha Mukherjee, Tanisha Mukherjee, Sayaji Shinde, Dilip Prabhawalkar, Upyendra Limaye, Rajesh Shringapure, Supriya Pathak, Javed Ansari and Sumeet Nijhawan.

Generally, making a sequel of a movie is risky but Ram Gopal Verma popularly called Ramu took this risk to present the sequel of the movie Sarkar made by him earlier. But the movie Sarkar Raj is a better flick than its prequel Sarkar. While Sarkar was inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘The Godfather’, Sarkar Raj is new movie with fresh story and did not take off where it left in Sarkar. The story of the movie is about Sarkar ( Amitabh Bachchan ) who is like a messiah for the people. The people accept his decisions no matter what system or law has to say. His son Shankar Nagre ( Abhishek Bachchan ) is a management graduate from US. Shankar has got good leadership skills and helps his father in bringing prosperity to his land.

The ambitious and aggressive business woman from London Anita Rajan ( Aishwarya Rai ) wants to achieve her goals at any cost and she does not tolerate anyone who comes before her progress. Anita, CEO of Sheppard power plant, brings a proposal to set up a power plant in Maharahtra befor the Nagres. Shankar realizes the benefits it can provide to the people but was opposed by Sarkar. But later he agrees to it. But the things were not that easy that it looked
