Sarkar was a social drama released on July 1, 2005 under the banners of Sahara One and K Sera Sera. The movie was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and produced by Parag Sanghavi. The top roles were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Tanisha Mukherjee, Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif while the presence of Kay Kay Menon and Anupam Kher supported the film. He is also involved in a love triangle with Katrina Kaif and Tanissha. Sarkar is a simple man who thinks about the common people and does everything for their welfare. How the people belonging to politics and underworld try to eliminate him with the help of his son Vishnu forms the theme of the movie.
