Sau Din Saas Ke was a comedy family drama released on June 27, 1980. The movie was directed by Vijay Sadanah and produced by Chander Sadanah. The main roles in the movie were played by Raj Babbar, Asha Parekh, Reena Roy and Maruti while the presence of Lalita Pawar, Neelu Phule, Ashok Kumar, Manmohan Krishna and Guddi Maruti supported the movie. The music of the film was directed by Anandji and Kalyanji Veerji while the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Sajjad Hussain, Kanchan, Suresh Wadkar, Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi.

Sau Din Saas Ke was a family cum comic movie that revolved mostly around a widowed lady named Bhavanidevi ( Lalita Pawar ) who is also a wealthy woman. She lives in her big house and rules it with an upper hand. She was like the queen of the house and nothing was allowed to be removed or touched without her permission. Her family consisted of her two sons, and one daughter Shobha ( Guddi Maruti ) and son-in-law named Khubchand ( Neelu Phule ).

They all lived happily with each other until one day her eldest son marries a girl of his choice named Sheela ( Asha Parekh ). Bhavanidevi did not like her at all as she didn’t bring enough dowry to satisfy her greed. Bhavanidevi wanted to teach her a lesson and thus burnt her foot and left her in open without any medical aid. The movie takes a turn when her second son gets married to a girl without her permission. This even angered her more and didn’t like her new daughter-in-law Durga ( Reena Roy ). She didn’t allow Durga to live in the house at first but later agreed to and treated her as a household servant.
