Bollywood family drama, Sawan Bhado, directed by Mohan Sehgal and written by K. P. Kottarakara was released in the year 1970. The movie starred Navin Nischol and Rekha in lead roles while Jayshree T., Krishan Dhawan, Chandrima Bhaduri, Narendra Nath, Shyama, Iftekhar and Madhukar alkso played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the music directors Om Prakash Sharma and Master Sonik in collaboration while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a young and handsome guy named Vikram ( Navin Nischol ), who returns from aborad after completing his studies there. But he get schoked to see the changed environment of his house. He finds that his stepmother is conrolling the whole house and his step sister, Dolly ( Jayshree T. ) has fallen in the bad company of some modern girls. He also reveals that Dolly has also fallen in love with a guy named Ranjeet ( Ranjeet ), whose intentions are to inherit all their wealth.

Vikram also meets with a beautiful village girl named Chanda ( rekha ) and instantly falls in love with her. They both then decides to make Dolly realize about the bad intentions of Ranjeet. But the biggest problem for them in doing this is Vikarm’s step mother, who thinks that Vikram does not want her daughter to live happy.
