Bollywood movie, Seeta Aur Geeta, directed by Ramesh Sippy was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Hema Malini, Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar in lead roles while Satyendra Kapoor, Manorama and Rupesh Kumar also played important roles in the film. The superhit music of the film was given by famous music director R.D. Burman and the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle. The movie recieved good response from the audience and went on to become a big hit of that year.

The movie starts with Seeta ( Hema Malini ), who is a orphan and living with her cruel ‘Chachi’ ( Manorama ). Seeta is treated as a servant in her own home whiel her chachi and her closeones are living a luxury life on her parent’s money. the only reason which keeps her binded at the place is her old grandmother. One night Ranjeet ( Rupesh Kumar ), Chachi’s brother, tries to rape her and on getting caught blames Seeta for it. Considering her life worthless, she runs away from home to commit suicide.

Seeta is saved by Raka ( Dharmendra ) who mistake her as his companion in street performance. On the other hand, Chachi also brings Geeta, Set’s identical twin, to home mistaken for Seeta. Geeta, who is unknow to her real relation with seeta, comes to know about the cruelty that Seeta has been living under and decides to teach a good lesson to her Chachi and Ranjeet. Meanwhile Geeta falls in love with a doctor named Ravi ( Sanjeev Kumar ) and Seeta falls in love with Raka.
