Bollywood movie, Shaadi Ke Baad, directed by L. V. Prasad was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Jeetendra and Rakhee Gulzar in lead roles while Shatrughan Sinha, Leela Mishra, Asrani, Kumar Naaz, Satyajeet Puri and Tabassum also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by none other than veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Mahendra Kapoor, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Shyam Ram ( Jeetendra ), who lives a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his father named Bhagat Ram ( Shekhar Purohit ). Shyam is an advocate by profession. Bhagat Ram recieves a marriage proposal for Shyam from Chaudhary’s bishen Swaroop Singh ( Shatrughan Sinha ). The girl named Shobha ( Rakhee Gulzar ) is the sister of Chaudhary’s son-in-law. Bhagat Ram hopes to get a huge dowry but get shocked to recieve only a promissory note after the marriage happens. Bhagat and Shyam return home leaving behind the newly wedded bride in her brother’s home.

Shyam then decides to relocate in Bombay. After Shyam leaves to Bombay, Bhagat Ram recieves the news that Shobha has run away with an unknown lover. Bhagat Ram also gets the news that Shobha’s mother has now also decidees to do legal procedding against him. Bhagat Ram immediately leaves for Bombay but therte he gets another shock that Shyam has lost his mental balance for some unknown reason.
