The action thriller Shaan was released on December 12, 1980 The movie was directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by G P Sippy. The top roles in the movie were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Rakhee and Shatrughan Sinha while the supporting roles were played by Parveen Babi, Bindiya Goswami, Sunil Dutt, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sudhir Pandey and Mazhar Khan. The music of the film was directed by R D Burman while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and Parveen Babi.

The movie Shaan was a famous action and thriller movie that revolved mostly around a man named DSP Shiv Kumar ( Sunil Dutt ) who is an extremely honest and true police officer living in Bombay. He lived happily with his family consisting of his wife ( Raakhee ), a son and two brothers Ravi ( Shashi Kapoor ), and Vijay ( Amitabh Bachchan ). He had no regrets but was unhappy with the behavior of his brothers as they were conman who would do anything to make quick money.

The movie takes a turn when one day Shiv was killed. This incident made Ravi and Vijay to quit their cheap stuffs and they decided that they will not spare the killer of their brother. But what they didn’t know was that the person who had helped them always was the actual person who killed their brother. The killer was a person named Shakal ( Kulbhushan Kharbanda ) who had them worked under him.
