Bollywood movie, Shor, written and directed by Manoj Kumar was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Manoj Kumar, Jaya Bhaduri and Nanda in lead roles while Kamini Kaushal, Asrani and Prem nath also played important roles in the film. The superhit music of the film was given by the famous music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal and the songs were sung by Mahendra Kapoor, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar, Manna Dey etc. The movie won several acclaims from audiences as well as from critics and went on to well at the box office window.

The movie starts with Shankar ( Manoj Kumar ), who is living happily with his wife and son. But tragedy strikes when his wife Geeta ( Nanda ) gets killed in the process of rescueing her son Deepak ( Master Satyajeet ) from the arriving train on the railway track. Deepak too looses his voices and becomes a dumb. Shankar takes him to the doctor, who suggests that he needs to do an operation of Deepak after which he would be able to speak like before. But the operation requires a sum of Rs 1000.

Shankar decides to arrange the required money at any cost to make his son speak again. His mother ( Kamini Kaushal ), friend Khan Badshah ( Prem Nath ) and Rani ( Jaya Bhaduri ) also stands in support of him. Shankar learns about an where he can win the required money. He decides to take part in the tournament to win the money for his son’s operation. But for this he needs to put is life at risk in the tournamnet. Will he be able to win the prize money?
