Rakesh Roshan and Rati Agnihotri starrer Shubh Kaamna, was released in the year 1983. The movie was directed by K. Vishwanath. The other starcast of the movie includes Vinod Mehra, Utpla Dutt, Satyendra Kapoor, Om Prakash, Ashalata, Asrani, Sujit Kumar and Renuka in significant characters. The hit music of the movie was directed by none other than the very famous Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were beautifully crooned by Amit Kumar Ganguly, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Ratan ( Rakesh Roshan ), who has been fired from many offices because of his unique style of working. His style of working is quite different form his superiors which causes problem for them to work with him. He then meets with a beautiful girl named Sujata ( Rati Agnihotri ). He also meets with her family and becomes one of the close personbs of the family. Sujata’s father, Jagannath ( Sujit Kumar ) is working on a lower post and is not wealthy enough to afford a big dowry for his daughter’s marriage.

Kind-hearted Ratan decides to take the responsibilty of Sujata’s marraige on his own. But he decides to do it in secret from the family. He arranges Sujata’s amrraige with a guy named Mr. Mehra ( Vinod Mehra ), who is working on a reputed seat in a good company. But in the process of bringing Mehra and Sujata close to each other, Ratan himself falls in love with Sujata. What will happen now?
