Songs of Sir
Sir was a criminal drama released on July 9, 1993. The movie was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and Gurudev Bhalla and was produced by Mukesh Bhatt. The lead roles in the movie were played by Naseruddin Shah, Pooja Bhatt and Atul Agnihotri while some appreciable roles were played by Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover and Avtar Gill. The music of the movie was given by Anu Malik and the singers were Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Kavita Krishnamurthy. The lyrics were written by Qateel Shifai.
The story opens with Amar Verma ( Naseruddin Shah ) who is a professor living happily with his family. There are two underworld dons Veljibhai ( Paresh Rawal ) and Chappan Tikle ( Gulshan Grover ) in the town, who are involved in a rivalry. One day a battle started between the two squads and Amar’s son got injured and died. This was a shock for Amar and his wife, and they both parted. Now, Amar had no companion so he decides to dedicate the rest of his life to his students. Pooja ( Pooja Bhatt ) had some vocal problem and was one of the students of Amar.
Amar being the philosopher and guide of his students decides to help Pooja to get rid of her problem. Pooja was the daughter of Veljibhai, so he decides to meet her father and encourages him to finish the issues with Chappan Tikle. Then he met Chappan and again pushes him to do the same. Now, being satisfied he went on a trip to Bangalore with his students and is astonished to know that both the dons have no plans to ceasefire rather they are after each other’s life. Amar is upset that he has led the life of his students in danger. Amar also finds that Pooja is in love.
